“The education I received from Mater Carmeli School taught me the value of service to others. May the challenges our societies confront today, such as social discrimination, political violence, and environmental issues, be addressed through community engagement and meaningful collaboration. Being of service to others makes our individual journeys valuable not only to ourselves but also, and more importantly, to the broader society. This is the Carmelian value that I will always carry with me.”

Winston Victor LimMater Carmeli School has always been a home away from home. It’s a place of love that has allowed me to learn and internalize many Christian values. MCS taught me that integrity and humility should be at the forefront of my work or service; it taught me to strive to be reflective of my actions and use my learnings to guide me through life. Joan I. CasisAs an alumna of MCS, I am thankful for the Catholic and Carmelian values that I’ve learned by heart and that I continue to have after so many years. As I come back to work as a teacher here in my alma mater, I am glad to share to my pupils the AMARE, CONTEMPLARE, SERVIRE, and ECCLESIAM that are inculcated in my heart and my soul. MCS inspires me to be genuinely good to others and it becomes my partner in learning and sharing my knowledge as I convey it to my pupils. To MCS, thank you for being my home.

Mildred A. TamacaPraised by Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! MCS — my Alma Mater, my second family who educated me the values of patience, perseverance, humility and most of all, you taught me to have faith in God, our Creator. As a Carmelian, you created a better version of me. I’ve learned to use my knowledge for the good of others. You showed me that the world is full of possibilities, as well as the importance of progress, and to overcome my greatest fear, CHANGE. Gelyn B. Montes, RN

Gelyn B. Montes, RNHaving a strong moral and Christian foundation is what kept me going in living my 24 years of being a Church servant. Humility and simplicity are the core values which I held onto, to be able to live a content life despite all the challenges I’ve gone through in saying “YES!” to God’s mission of proclaiming His word, spreading His love, and living as a faithful follower of Christ. All these I learned from none other than my Alma Mater, MCS D. Tuazon, of which I am truly grateful for.

Glory be to God! I, for one, feel very blessed to have graduated from Mater Carmeli School. To say that I had excellent teachers and friends would be an understatement, because for me, those were one of the best moments in my life. In terms of academics, Mater Carmeli gave a lot of memorable experiences. I had the opportunity to maximize everything that I had learned and absorbed, and excelled in it. One such moment that I find gratifying is having represented Mater Carmeli School at the National Spelling Bee, truly one of the highlights of my youth. I proudly share this experience with my progeny, and hope they use this memory for their children in tow as well. Not only did Mater Carmeli place importance on education, but it also had great emphasis on Christian values. It is certain that every student produced by Mater Carmeli will have inculcated in themselves true values that will benefit future generations.

Being a graduate from Mater Carmeli School has been an unforgettable moment of my life. Starting off from Preparatory until I finished Grade 6, it has taught me a lot to learn which I brought until I reached my college years. I should say, teachers are extremely excellent in their teaching methods because they instill a sense of rightness to their students, especially good moral characters and Christian values, which I’m proud to say, I received a Deportment Award during my graduation at Mater Carmeli School. The truth has imprinted in my heart.

I came from an average family, sometimes trying to make ends meet. But I am very grateful for God, gave my parents sufficient strength and blessings so I could study in Mater Carmeli School for my elementary education. My schools were both fun and very challenging. I remember, it was back in Grade 4, our house apartment burned down along with other residents in the area. When my teachers and classmates found out we were victims of the fire, they and the Sisters gave me money donations, uniforms, and stuff from the ‘lost and found’. I didn’t understand back then why they gave it to me but I was also happy when I brought it to my mother. I may only have been an ordinary student but I felt special and inspired because of how the school embraced the community with warmth, compassion and equality, specially during the times of need.
I am forever in debt to my Alma Mater for it has given me invaluable treasures that I have kept until now in my heart. And with God’s will and guidance, I have the chance to inspire other people about self-love, humilty, perseverance, resiliency, kindness, and perhaps empathy through my work. Truly, strong values, when formed at the early age, are good foundation to be successful and happy in life. I am forever proud to be a Carmelian!

What Mater Carmeli School has taught me that I may say brought me to where I am right now? It is the character of “perseverance”. I guess in whatever profession, it would take a lot of courage to be able to keep going even against all odds or obstacles. From just a small kid, now to a full-grown man, I believe this is what my Alma Mater hone me to keep on working a little progress each day that will add up to big result someday.

“A small church”, where Christians are fully committed with God. These mission and vision have always been in my heart since I was a kid until I grew up to where I am right now. Mater Carmeli School has always been my second home. After some years, there comes a time that I thought I can no longer progress in life, living with what I learned in my beloved Alma Mater and try to be a strong soldier of Christ. Looking back, I realised that I had gone lots of storms and yet, here I am already achieving things I dreamt in life. One step at a time with all my struggles and difficulties in life.
I always look back to my second home and tried to solve everything, living life with “humane and gospel values” I learned inside my beloved Alma Mater.
Up to now, I am always grateful and blessed that I get to grow up from this school where all good things and lessons are indeed essentials and real blessings which really puts people closer to God, as well as being a good soldier of Christ, and a real blessing to other people.

Praise be Jesus, Mary, and Joseph!
My eight years in this institution gave me a holistic education that made me a well-rounded individual. I was scholastically ready because of the teachers who imparted immense wisdom and knowledge. I realized the importance of social skills because of the staff who are always kind to everyone. I learned to embody Contemplare, Amare, Servire, and Ecclesiam because of the Carmelite sisters who showed us how to live a Carmelian life.
Whenever there are people asking about my primary school, I say with pride and dignity that I studied at Mater Carmeli School – D. Tuazon, Quezon City, followed by stories about how I got fruitful years there, and I was so prepared when I got into high school. Needless to say, MCS is truly remarkable, molding every Carmelian’s life towards success!

The Carmelian teachings have developed the work ethic and fear of God in me. It was within the four corners of the school in D. Tuazon, Quezon City where I learned to be understanding to people and to be disciplined; and that is because of the Christ-like virtues that they live which have inspired me.
I would like to thank Mater Carmeli School for all the guidance and values that you have taught me. Not only did I learn a lot, but also made good memories there as a kid. I am where I am now because of the kind teaching staff and sisters that they have.
MCS will always be a huge part of my life, not only in my professional life, but also in my walk in faith.

Dana Therese D.S Quebral

Praised be Jesus, Mary, and Joseph!
A child’s formative years have a crucial contribution to future behavior and disposition in life. Pedagogical approaches emphasize that how teachers deliver the content of lectures greatly influences how the child will imbibe them to later put to use as a guide to action and living. It is imperative, therefore, that learning during those formative years happen in a conducive environment. One that focuses not only on the cognitive but on other aspects of development as well for it is the entirety of these aspects that define a person. It is, then, a privilege to have been enrolled in an institution that values such an approach to education.
Mater Carmeli School (MCS) devotes itself to the provision of holistic education. Beyond harnessing our intellectual prowess, MCS molded me to become a community – builder. To see life, not as a race as to who gets the most medals, the highest recognition, or the fattest bank account. On the contrary, MCS taught me to live in the service of others. MCS taught me that one of life’s greatest legacies is the mark I leave on people. When they were in their darkest, most desperate moments, the genuine concern and love I have shown them shall leave an indelible mark on their existence which may, one way or another, influence them to, likewise, do good to others.
Amongst the numerous values MCS has inculcated in me, becoming a service-oriented person holds the most significance. The mark that this teaching has left is what drove me to pursue the nursing profession as this is where I see myself to be most fit to serve society. An insight that I shall forever carry as I journey in this life.
To be a student is one thing, but to be a Carmelian student is another. Carmelians are trained to be a person for others. A friend to the lonely. A hope to the desperate. A light in the darkness. For this and more, I am forever grateful.

Mater Carmeli is more than just a school for me and my siblings; it’s a spiritual, emotional, and educational home. This is a community that cares deeply about children entrusted to their care. My precious years at MCS have greatly impacted my life. I have made lasting friends and memories here. The selfless teachers and non-teaching staff taught me hwo to be compassionate and hard-working, while at the same time giving me a quality education. The caring nuns taught me the importance of family, and the values of respect and forgiveness. Most importantly, they helped me grow closer to God and to have a strong foundation of faith and core values. I am forever indebted to my Alma Mater and will always be a proud Camelian!

It is said that reminiscence of the past should be done as long as it gives pleasure and happiness. And this is what exactly happens to me when I remember my Alma Mater. I enjoyed my elementary days at MCS. There are many fond memories to look back on – like field demos, quiz bees, stage performances, retreats, and other fun learning school activities. I’ve also learned a lot of things. They were able to bring out the best in me.
Our school was a blissful place. I can never truly describe or express my deep gratitude, love, and appreciation for our school’s commitment to excellence, for helping us in our growth, molding our lives, and shaping our destinies and one’s personality. At a very young age, qualities of responsibility, discipline, punctuality, truthfulness, and healthy competition were instilled in us.
As a whole, this school was able to deliver the highest standard of education. They continue to improve, not only academically, but also structurally by improving their facilities. Hence, it helps students acquire skills that will help them in their career.
Together with my daughter Andrea Charmaine L Camiling, who was also a Carmelian (even if just for a short span of time) – whatever we are today, we owe it to our school, “Our Dear Mater Carmeli School”. Also with our teachers, we are always very thankful that we had the right mentors at the right moment, in our growing-up years. Truly, our school was full of knowledge and experience. I’ll be forever grateful for this amazing experience and education.
The school has guided and allowed me to grow to who I am today and thus it has been a very comfortable place to me and I am sure to others as well.
I AM A PROUD CARMELIAN!

Praised be Jesus, Mary, and Joseph!
During my formative and early adolescent years, I remember I was never really standing out too much. I was never the academic overachiever, nor was I ever the creatively talented kid with crazy, overzealous ambitions. I was never the kind of kid you’d expect to garner awards, collect medals, or stand on podiums. I was never really an “accomplished” child. At least not in that kind of traditional sense. Because what I really was, was a kid who was blessed to have had the proper guidance to eventually become the kind of person my adult self would personally be proud of years into the future. I was very lucky to have grown up being surrounded and nurtured by the faculty and staff of Mater Carmeli School. I was raised and taught by compassionate, supportive, and caring teachers and I like to think that somewhere along the way, I’ve also grown just as compassionate, supportive, and caring as them.
To this day, I consider the values that I’ve witnessed from my childhood mentors as one of the cornerstones of my life. I may not have known what I would do or encounter in the future after graduation, but I know for a fact that without the kind of guidance I received early on in life from my Alma Mater, I would not be half as successful as I am now as an adult. I owe much to Mater Carmeli, and I’m very proud to call myself a Carmelian. And I hope that somehow, I’ve made them just as proud to see what I’ve accomplished so far.
After all, I wouldn’t be here without them setting me right from the start in the first place.

The power of consistency and discipline – I learned this from our school principal when I was in grade school. I remembered from her that you need to be diligent in everything you do. Being consistent, persistent, and present toward your goal will let you reach the pinnacle of success.
Simple daily actions repeated over time will eventually be your habits and thus will be your discipline in life. Always grateful and proud to my Alma Mater for inculcating Carmelian values within us.

Aside from the school’s core values, the institution also instilled the importance of building relationships and inclusivity. Mater Carmeli School is a small community where faculty, staff, and students play an important role in maintaining the foundation of the school. Learning this helped me to adapt and work smoothly with my colleagues knowing that good relationships will result in efficiency.
I am beyond grateful to my Alma Mater for equipping its students with values that can be used throughout their professional journey. Indeed, Mater Carmeli School has instilled firm values that shaped its students to have a better foundation from which they can build their future.

Mater Carmeli has molded me to become a follower of Christ and one of the core values that I still carry to this day is to serve; I believe that rather than letting me pursue my degree, He led me to the journey of being a healthcare virtual office manager and use me as His instrument to help people with medical care and billing concerns.
Mater Carmeli School’s core values are prayer, love, service, communion; these core values will be my guide as I use the leadership skills He gifted me, not only in representing the Parent Council as their President, but also as a mom to my son Zian Andrei who is walking the path of righteousness.
